Johnny Depp’s New Girlfriend Has Interesting Royal Connection

Johnny Depp is a name that needs no introduction. The Pirates of the Caribbean star was in the news after he won a case against his currently separated wife, Amber Heard.

While Heard’s pleas were not heard in the courtroom and the judge gave the judgement in Depp’s favor, people have heard that the actor is dating his former lawyer Joelle Rich.

Page Six reports that Joelle has a history of representing important matters. She represented Meghan Markle, in the Duchess of Sussex’s case against Associated Newspapers, which owns the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

The British Tabloid had published a private and personal letter from Markle to her father. The court ruled that the publication of the letter breached her privacy and was “unlawful.”

Markle sued the company in October 2019 after the letters she wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, following his absence at her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry were available in the public domain. She won her case in December 2021.

Rich also was by Depp’s side when the actor won his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this year. Only time will tell if this connection sees Depp in royal company soon enough.
