Cobra Kai, the spinoff to The Karate Kid film series, has gained widespread acclaim from both reviewers and fans. Season 5 of the series recently dropped and already claimed the top spot on Netflix for two weeks in a row. Needless to say, the latest season has piqued the interest of fans. The creators behind the series have some news regarding season 6.
Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg recently spoke with Deadline about their plans for the series. They mentioned during the conversation that Netflix has yet to formally renew the series for season 6. Despite the fact that they are still working with the streaming giant to obtain an official statement.
We’re still working all that out with Sony and Netflix, and we don’t have an official Season 6 to announce yet. What we can say is that we’re constantly thinking about these characters. We are working on Obliterated right now for Sony and Netflix. (Valium Online) We’re in our second month of production on that, and I think it’s going to blow people’s minds.
But we’re hopeful that there’s going to be more Cobra Kai on the horizon. There may be a little bit more of a wait potentially, just because we are in the midst of working on that other show, but it won’t be far behind, assuming everything goes as we’re expecting.
The Karate Kid sequel series has risen in popularity in recent years, courtesy of additional seasons exclusively streaming on Netflix. The drama has traditionally focused on characters from the original film, with Johnny Lawrence, Daniel LaRusso, and John Kreese at the forefront of Cobra Kai’s battle. Many more well-known characters have made reappearances over the years.
Given the show’s popularity, it appears unlikely that Netflix would cancel it. However, even if it is renewed for another season, it will be delayed due to a number of reasons. There is also an upcoming Sony’s Karate Kid film, which might extend season 6 release date even further into 2024.
