Every teenager has definitely gone through the ‘Rock and Roll’ phase when they worshiped rock icons such as Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, and Steve Vai. Many people outgrow the stage as they become older, but just a few survive until adulthood. If you are one among them, you have a fantastic opportunity to purchase the guitar used by your favorite rock star.
TMZ reports, that the Legends of Rock and Roll auction will take place next month, with some very remarkable and legendary axes up for grabs. The auction includes guitars owned or performed by some of the most famous rock stars of all time. Just imagine getting your hands on Jimi Hendrix’s Japanese Sunburst electric guitar, a gift from his father.
The guitar is likely to be sold for around $250,000. Kurt Cobain’s acoustic guitar comes with a real estate receipt. Elvis’ 1975 Martin D-28 guitar will also be on the auction block. The King’s instrument also comes with a case.
The auction will also include some possibly more affordable options. It includes guitars from KISS’s Paul Stanley, Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge, and The Cure’s Robert Smith.
However, if you don’t want to pretend to be a guitar hero, there are alternative options. For instance, you can take a look at James Brown’s monogrammed dressing room robe and slippers, Rick James’ custom-made and stage-worn snake outfit, or Johnny Cash’s 14K bracelet and matching ring.
The online auction will be hosted by Kruse GWS Auctions, and bidding will begin at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, October 15. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
