Update: Rihanna has confirmed that she is doing the Super Bowl with a huge tease on social media. TMZ has since confirmed she got the gig.
Original: Rihanna is still one of the most popular artists in the music industry. The entire world keeps an eye on every move of the rapper mom. The NFL and Roc Nation, however, have reportedly been in discussions with Rihanna to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and that could be absolutely breathtaking.
There have been several discussions with Rihanna and her team, according to sources with exclusive information who spoke to TMZ. It’s not clear if it is a sure thing, but according to its sources, the NFL might tweet out the name they’ve booked as early as Sunday afternoon.
Rihanna has been teasing new music for more than a year now. And the Super Bowl Halftime Show would be the perfect platform for its launch.
According to other sources, there have also been talks with a different performer, so there would be at least two people on stage. It’s noteworthy that Rihanna declined a request to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2020 because she didn’t agree with how the NFL treated Colin Kaepernick.
Taylor Swift was also approached months ago by the NFL to perform at the Halftime Show, but she declined. She has reportedly shown interest in performing at the Super Bowl, but only after rerecording all 6 of her early albums; she has only done two of them.
