Azealia Banks’ social media presence and outspoken opinions, particularly on US politics and race, have sparked considerable controversy, criticism, and media scrutiny. When it comes to Azealia’s wrath, no one is safe, particularly her fellow female rappers. The Harlem rapper recently rekindled her feud with Nicki Minaj this month.
Azealia claimed that the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper was to blame for the cancelation of her upcoming reality show. Azealia said on Instagram that she was meant to start filming a show for an undisclosed network, but “apparently Nicki gave the network an ultimatum because she knows I’ll have better ratings.”
The “212” rapper went on to unload on Nicki, claiming that the network execs, “all hate her and think she’s ghetto, terrible to work with, overweight and boring.” Though Nicki has yet to respond to the accusations, Azealia has not given up on the Queens rapper. Banks reignited her feud with Minaj on Tuesday, September 27, focusing on the 39-year-beef old’s with Cardi B.
“Nicki is so obsessed with Cardi it’s only making me like cardi more,” Azaelia shared via Instagram. The controversial rapper went on to blast the Barb for relying on “tokenism” to go forward.
A smart Nicki would have done the cardi, doja, Megan collabs smiled in their faces while safaree worked on her album in the background then came through and dominated. Without showing the world how desperately you’ve relied on tokenism and sabotaging other black female rappers behind the scenes.
This isn’t the first time Azealia has shown support for Cardi. She made headlines over the summer for calling the Bronx rapper an industry plant, but later clarified, adding, “But sis took advantage of the opportunity and rode that bi**h the f**K out, assembled the right team, seized the moment and made herself a cultural mainstay. U have to respect it.”
Nicki Minaj has yet to respond to Azealia’s comments. Let’s see what happens next between them. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
