Gunna was imprisoned in connection with a gang-related indictment that also included Young Thug and 26 other YSL associates. Despite being denied twice before, he has filed for bond once again.
According to Complex, Gunna’s legal team argued a simple reason behind the third bond hearing. They claimed that Georgia prosecutors have failed to present evidence in support of their case that Gunna should stay imprisoned.
The State has presented no evidence to support its claims of dangerousness and has dismissed the only serious overt act (75) that was present when the first bond hearing was held
Gunna’s co-lead counsel spoke with the publication on Wednesday about how prosecutors failed to prove the harm Gunna poses to any individual or community. He also said that the rapper is hopeful that the court will recognize this argument and set a reasonable bond for his release.
Sergio Kitchens (Gunna) is very hopeful that the Court will now recognize that the discovery provided by the prosecution fails to show his pretrial release poses a significant risk of danger to any person or the community or poses a significant threat to witnesses, and accordingly grants a reasonable bond,
In this case, the prosecution regards YSL as a gang. Gunna is charged with conspiracy to commit RICO violations.
