Kanye West Hires Melinda Gates’ Former Lawyer To Represent Him In Kim Kardashian Divorce Case

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s divorce proceedings started early last year. Ye even had to fight his ex-wife for co-parenting rights. The former couple’s relationship has only worsened since Kim initiated the divorce. It seems Kanye is prepared to fight the case with some of the industry’s most prominent attorneys by his side.

According to TMZ, the rapper has hired the same lawyer who represented Melinda Gates in her multi-billion dollar divorce from Bill Gates. Ye already has five other divorce attorneys involved in this case. The recent addition to his team is Robert Stephan Cohen of Cohen Clair Lans Greifer Thorpe & Rottenstreich LLP.

A judge legally declared Kim single back in March and as a result she dropped the “West” from her last name. However, the former couple is currently fighting over custody and property details. The two have prenup in place so property issues should be easily sorted out. When it comes to custody, Ye will want to spend as much time as possible with his children.

Kanye shares four children with Kim: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. He has previously stated that the kids spend most of their time with Kim. Although he has expressed his desire to be near his children as much as possible.

Kim and Kanye were married for seven years, and it will be interesting to see how this situation turns out in the end. Kim recently purchased a new house in Malibu as a way to maintain her autonomy from her ex-husband.
