Queen Elizabeth II was one of the twentieth century’s most complex, dynamic, and beloved figures. Her death certificate, on the other hand, is very simple. This week, the official document was filed.
TMZ reports, it was confirmed that she died on September 8 at 3:10 PM local time at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The cause of death for the 96-year-old monarch is reported as “Old Age.” It’s likely that this is the first time people have seen a death certificate with such little information.
Typically, the death certificate includes something more medical, such as cardiac arrest or multiple organ failure. However, we haven’t seen any of them for British monarchs who have sat on the throne for over 70 years. Douglas James Allan Glass was the doctor who proclaimed her dead.
Princess Anne, her only daughter, is named as the “informant.” Aside from that, the certificate states that Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was the widowed daughter of King George VI and Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon called ‘The Queen Mother.’ To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
