Coolio rose to prominence as a member of the Gangsta rap group WC and the Maad Circle, alongside WC and Crazy Toones. The rapper’s sudden death has shocked the entire hip-hop scene. Before his death, Coolio was scheduled to film for an episode of “Wild ‘N Out,” but unfortunately that didn’t happen.
According to TMZ, Coolio had to cancel his plans to be in Atlanta on Tuesday, September 20th for the episode’s tapings, but was forced to cancel. A source close to the rapper noted, he was very excited about this opportunity and was waiting to be on the show for a long time.
The show’s producer and Coolio had been working for a long time to make it happen, and they ultimately agreed on a date that worked. The rapper canceled it at the last minute because his travel plans changed, and he couldn’t book a flight to Atlanta for the show’s tapings.
Valentina Nicolette, who booked the rapper for this gig, stated that he intended to perform “Gangsta’s Paradise” on the show. Coolio was very upset when he couldn’t attend the episode’s tapings. The outlet also noted he was a huge fan of the show. So him being bummed about it seems only natural.
Coolio died Wednesday afternoon at a friend’s residence in Los Angeles, and his final concert was with Vanilla Ice in Texas on Friday. He was only 59-years-old. May his soul rest in peace.
