Gunna was imprisoned in connection with a gang-related indictment that also involved Young Thug and 26 other YSL associates. Gunna is currently attempting to return home while his criminal case is pending. Kevin Liles, head of Gunna’s label 300 Elektra Entertainment, totally supports the move.
TMZ spoke with Kevin at the “Rap and the Rules of Evidence” panel in D.C. on Thursday. He reiterated points made in court when Young Thug was attempting to get house arrest before his trial. Kevin stated that his long-standing support for Young Thug stretches down the YSL family tree.
Kevin considers him, Gunna, and everyone else at the label his “sons.” For the third time, Gunna’s attorneys are actively arguing for his release in Atlanta. Meanwhile, Kevin maintains that Gunna is not a violent offender and should not be imprisoned.
The panel discussion was supported by The Recording Academy, RIAA, and Industry Blackout. During the session, Kevin appeared moved by the previous conversation and became emotional while recounting the difficulties of YSL’s Rico case. He emphasized how Young Thug was unable to attend Lil Keed’s funeral in May, and how Gunna is being held guilty just by association.
Time will tell when Gunna will be released. We will keep you informed. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
