Remy Ma rose to notoriety as a member of Fat Joe’s Terror Squad group. She is one of only four people to have received the BET Award for Best Female hip-hop Artist twice, in 2005 and 2017. Remy was recently believed to have gotten a chance on Real Housewives, but was unable to join the show due to geography.
TMZ reports, Remy Ma was in early talks to become the first rapper-turned-‘Real Housewife.’ However, as any realtor would tell her, she ran into a significant issue because it’s all about location. According to sources acquainted with the matter, ‘RHONY’ star Eboni K. Williams mentioned Remy’s name to casting several months ago for the Bravo reality series.
She thought Remy would be a terrific addition to the show. The casting team conducted a virtual chat with Remy, which went quite well. However, they faced a major roadblock when they discovered that the Bronx-born MC now resides full-time in New Jersey.
The rapper used to live in midtown Manhattan, but she no longer does. At the time she was recommended to casting, it was assumed she had ties to New York City. While the Bravo series has generally been lax with the cast’s “wife” status, they are quite rigid about geography. So all conversations with Remy regarding “The Real Housewives of New York City” came to an end.
Tamsen Fadal, a well-known NYC newscaster from the CW affiliate PIX11, was also considered, but it didn’t work out either. Bravo has yet to officially reveal the new season 14 cast. As reported earlier, housewives boss Andy Cohen stated in April that the network is rebooting and recasting ‘RHONY’ after 13 seasons.
Remy, unfortunately, will not be climbing all the way to the top of that list. Let us wait and see what the future has in store for her. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
