Original: Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt back in 2016. They were one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples for more than 12 years. Now the pair is dealing with a messy divorce and custody battle. A new report offers some insight into their marital problems.
The Oscar winner cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. But it turns out Jolie was upset with her ex-husband’s parenting style. The FBI investigation into their infamous 2016 private plane flight revealed Pitt put his hands on not just his then-wife but also his kids.
Page Six reports that Brad Pitt allegedly “choked” one of his children with Angelina Jolie and “grabbed” her by the head and shook her. A countersuit filed by the “Maleficent” actress claims, at one point, Pitt poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children.
The court documents also allege that Jolie tried to stop her then-husband only to get injured by him. Pitt was investigated by the FBI for child abuse, over the incident. However, the authorities didn’t pursue any criminal charges against him.
The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying.
This infamous incident was solely responsible for Jolie to file a divorce from Pitt, just after two years of marriage. The former couple share six children: Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, Vivienne, 14, and Knox, 14. They met around 2003 and wed in 2014.
