Alec Baldwin is without a doubt one of Hollywood’s most well-known and established performers. Baldwin is best recognized for his comedy roles, but he also takes serious roles on occasion. He made headlines for all the wrong reasons after accidentally shooting a crew member, and he has finally made a settlement. It will not, however, stop the criminal investigation.

TMZ reports that the settlement of Matthew Hutchins’ wrongful death suit against Alec Baldwin and others on the set of “Rust” means that production can continue. However, this does not indicate that the ongoing criminal investigation into the D.P.’s death is coming to a halt. According to sources close to the investigation, the settlement will have no impact on the criminal investigation.

Authorities said Baldwin and others could face charges as a result of the investigation. According to the Sheriff’s Department, once the investigation is finished, the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney, who will decide who, if anyone, will be prosecuted. As previously reported, Baldwin and co. are continuing where they left off in the film that took the life of Halyna Hutchins last year, since the actor is continuing in his lead role and other cast members will also continue.

Matthew, Halyna’s husband, announced that he is no longer pursuing a lawsuit against Alec or the “Rust” producers, claiming that they have struck an agreement, and he has agreed to drop his wrongful death suit. Matthew has also signed on to be an executive producer for the project.

Attorney Jason Bowles, who represents on-set armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, told the outlet that Hannah is grateful for the settlement because it will benefit the Hutchins family and that they hope the D.A.’s office will opt out of pursuing criminal charges.
