Ray Buffer rose to prominence after appearing in guest roles on television and movies in 2004, including a stint as a Stage Manager on Curb Your Enthusiasm. He was recently caught stealing comic books, which isn’t a good look at all.
TMZ reports that a San Diego comic book store has accused actor Ray Buffer of stealing several expensive comics. According to the store, security footage shows him slipping them into his shirt. Southern California Comics in San Diego claims it has a video of Ray stealing $600 in comic books.
The store filed a police report with SDPD and is providing evidence, including security footage, to police. The SDPD told the outlet that they took a petty theft report and are investigating the incident. After warning other stores about Ray in a Facebook post before he was discovered, the comic book store says it has obtained further evidence that it will pass over to the police.
The owners told the outlet that Metropolis Comics in Los Angeles had provided them with some eerily identical security footage from Ray’s stay there. The owner confronted Ray after witnessing him pull the same trick, and this time he put the comics back and walked away as the owner threatened to call the cops.
It seems that the actor made his own response to this incident. Ray has deactivated all of his social media accounts after the comic book store placed the video on the internet.
Due to the high value of some comic books, bookstores are constantly on guard against this form of theft. Even rare comics are selling for high prices at auctions. This is why most stores have excellent security cameras. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
