Cobra Kai is a comedy-drama on Netflix that has maintained its standard throughout the course of the last five seasons. There was a lot of anticipation among fans for the blockbuster drama’s forthcoming sequel. Ralph Macchio recently unveiled an incredibly thrilling Cobra Kai season 6 release update.
Fans of Cobra Kai might wish to resume their karate training. Although Netflix released season 5 in September, fans are already eager to return to the dojo for season 6. Although the streamer hasn’t provided any updates, Cobra Kai cast member Ralph Macchio, a.k.a. The Karate Kid, recently hinted at the show’s potential.
The Karate Kid was questioned about the possibility of a sixth season of Cobra Kai in a recent interview with Us Weekly. He acknowledged that he didn’t know much about the current state of the popular drama, but he did add that the cast and crew are certain they would receive good news soon.
“It hasn’t officially been picked up. I need to say that because that is the truth. [But] we’re feeling pretty good that we’ll get to continue the show and let it evolve and land when it needs to.”
Even though it’s not a confirmation, at least everyone has something to hang onto. But if a new season begins, what else might be in store? Ralph kept on telling that the writers’ room might be influenced by fan feedback while determining the path for season 6.
“These guys, Jon [Hurwitz], Josh [Heald] and Hayden [Schlossberg], who write this show, are just so great at [having] their finger on the pulse of what the fans want. They are the fans themselves … There’s more meat on the bones there. But it’s gotta be entertaining and organic and I think there’s plenty of places to go every season.”
If that’s any indication, Daniel LaRusso, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), and their karate students still have a lot of “wax on, wax off” to do. Everyone is aware that Cobra Kai season 5 concluded with a number of cliffhangers. After breaking out of jail, John Kreese (Martin Kove) is now on the prowl for victims.
Thanks to Daniel and his infamous crane kick, Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) finally received his due. After Johnny made the decision to revive his old karate dojo, the teenagers from Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai were able to settle their score and bring peace back to the Valley.
Having said that, there’s always room to investigate fresh plotlines. Fans never know what they will get next because Cobra Kai frequently recycles characters from the film franchise it is entwined with. Jon Hurwitz even added to Variety in September that there’s a lot to say about Cobra Kai.
“We have more story to tell; we’re still figuring out the specifics of that. There’s plenty in store, lots of thoughts going forward. There’s a lot we want to do with these characters and we’re giddy about that next step.”
