Joe Biden has been the President of the United States since January of last year. People were glad when he took over at first, because Donald Trump’s approval rating was dismal, but things have not been going smoothly for him. That being said, Biden pulled a Hail Mary with one landmark announcement.
As previously reported, Joe Biden started a mission to decriminalize marijuana recently. Biden announced that he will pardon all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession, a move that senior administration officials said would affect many Americans.
While speaking to TMZ, Tommy Chong said he sees President Biden’s weed possession pardon as a big step forward in the world of cannabis. However, he is not quite celebrating just yet.
Celebration needs to stall because the government has yet to remove marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug. Chong said he thinks that a rescheduling would be a boon for those involved in legitimate trading of weed.
What a coincidence, right before the election, wow. Well, it shows that he knows what people want and what he should be doing. It’s a racist vibe anyway, so the sooner they get rid of it, the better, but they gotta do it this way.
People don’t realize how important that re-scheduling is. If you don’t re-schedule it, the growers, dealers, and pot shops, we can’t bank our money. We can’t use credit cards. We can’t be treated like a legitimate business.
So, once we do get it re-scheduled from one, then I’ll celebrate. For now, I’ll be like, ‘that’s good.’ Good for Biden. I’m voting for him, I voted for him.
Tommy thinks marijuana sales will someday become the biggest industry in the world, so rescheduling it could further validate the legitimacy of the business. Tommy was sentenced to 9 months in a federal lockup, after pleading guilty to selling bongs through a family-owned business back in 2003. We’ll have to see what Biden will do next.
The famous actor, who reached fame alongside Cheech Marin as part of a weed-heavy duo, is obviously happy about the progress. That being said, there is still a lot of work left to do.
