Draymond Green is one of the top players in the NBA and continues to perform brilliantly for the Golden State Warriors. Fans, on the other hand, must have seen a video of Draymond Green severely hitting Jordan Poole at a Warriors practice. Draymond was initially suspended following the incident, but Steve Kerr has now stated that he will just be fined.
TMZ reports that the severity of Draymond Green’s punishment for hitting teammate Jordan Poole during practice last week was recently disclosed by Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. The NBA player, according to him, will receive a fine rather than a suspension and will return to the team on Thursday.
Following Tuesday’s preseason win over the Portland Trail Blazers for the Dubs, Kerr got right to the point. He said it as he gave an update on the four-time champion to begin his postgame news conference. The coach claimed that the team had “deep discussions” about the incident with players like Poole and Green as well as Stephen Curry and other league executives.
After weighing all the options, they decided that this was the best course of action. Kerr, who joined the Warriors in 2014, claims it was “an exhaustive process” and a difficult one. “This is the biggest crisis that we’ve ever had since I’ve been coach here,” Kerr said. “It’s really serious stuff.”
Green’s fine amount will not be made public, according to Kerr. Since the incident, Poole and Green have had a sit-down chat and Kerr also noted that Jordan was the key member in determining the penalty. The two players appear to have patched up their differences and are ready to work together to defend their title this coming season.
On Friday, Draymond will play in a preseason game for the Warriors. He will take the court in GSW’s regular season opener. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
