Beyonce dropped her latest album ‘Renaissance’ on July 29, 2022. The album was well received by her fans and critics with many praising its cohesive yet eclectic production. However, there was a slight controversy that has emerged surrounding the album and it has nothing to do with the album’s song.
Fashion and art designer Nusi Quero worked on the album’s art. However, according to recent reports by PageSix, the art designer wasn’t paid by Beyonce’s stylist for his work on the album. Beyonce jumped to the defense of her stylist.
“It is deeply troubling that designer Nusi Quero has posted damaging statements about Marni Senofonte regarding non-payments for work completed. In fact, he was paid for his work, and there is proof of all payments made.”
Beyonce’s rep told PageSix that there were three payments made to him. The first payment was made on May 9, 2022. While, Nasi Quero admitted he received 50 percent for one of the three jobs, he didn’t receive anything else from her stylist. He also mentioned that there were issues with the bank but it was immediately resolved.
“Marni paid a 50 percent deposit to me for one of the three jobs, (not the album cover), nothing more, and it took over a month to get it to us.”
Beyonce’s rep refuted these claims while acknowledging that there were issues with the bank. The rep then said that the second payment was paid via wire transfer on July 8, 2022 but the third payment was returned due to changes made to his account number. After numerous attempts to get the correct information and two unsuccessful wire transfer attempts, a physical check was mail to Nusi Quero for the final payment on September 29, 2022.
