Brendan Fraser is one of those stars who seized audiences after his successful roles in The Mummy & The Mummy Returns. However, after a few roles in The Mummy III, Journey To The Center Of The Earth, and a few roles here and there, he mysteriously disappeared from the big screen for years.
Tom Cruise also previously acted in a reboot of the Mummy franchise. However, the film was critically panned and a commercial flop as well for a variety of reasons.
While speaking with Variety on October 12, Brendan Fraser was asked if he’d ever join a revival of The Mummy franchise. Fraser made it clear he doesn’t want to do a reboot but is willing to make a fourth movie.
“I don’t know how it would work. But I’d be open to it if someone came up with the right conceit.
It is hard to make that movie. The ingredient that we had going for our Mummy, which I didn’t see in that film, was fun. That was what was lacking in that incarnation,” he added. “It was too much of a straight-ahead horror movie. ‘The Mummy’ should be a thrill ride, but not terrifying and scary.”
We will have to wait and see whether Brendan Fraser truly will become a part of a fourth Mummy movie or not, as fans would love to see that happen.
