The hip-hop world was truly shaken when Young Thug, Gunna, and several other YSL affiliates were arrested under the Georgia RICO Act. The case continues to go on and make headlines as well. Gunna was also denied release from jaul yet again.
Young Thug and Gunna were initially denied parole from an Atlanta jail on additional drug and illegal guns charges. Things have only been getting worse for Gunna for that.
According to a report from Billboard, Judge Ural Glanville declined to release Gunna from jail ahead of a trial that’s currently slated to begin in January. This became the third such rejection, with the stated reasoning behind Thursday’s refusal summarized by the judge as being rooted in the “same concerns” asserted in the other rejections.
Gunna’s legal team argued that prosecutors have “no evidence” to support holding him. The 29-year-old was charged with one count of conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, and prosecutors linked him to the larger RICO indictment using numerous social media posts and images of him sporting YSL chains. Regardless, things do not look good for the rapper at this moment.
