Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a bonafide legend in the world of professional wrestling and is also arguably the biggest star in Hollywood right now. The superstar is constantly in the headlines because of his upcoming hit Black Adam. Recently, The Rock exposed some Hollywood movie magic while on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday to promote “Black Adam.”
Fallon brought up how Johnson differs from other actors portraying superheroes on television by pointing out that he doesn’t require the costume department’s assistance in making him look menacing. Fallon began with, “You were telling me when they were making this super suit for you, for Black Adam,” He further added, “I mean you are The Rock. You are Dwayne Johnson. You are in just awesome shape.”
“And you got the suit, and the first one had like pads in it, right?
Johnson then explained to the live audience clearly trying to find the right words, “Dude, with the muscle … with the superhero costumes.” He added, “All throughout the superhero – like Marvel and DC, they all have these muscle paddings in them.” Fallon then said, “Of course.”
Johnson tried to soften the blow as he said, “Which is just what you do,” before describing how that didn’t suit his physical makeup, “So, you can imagine that muscle suit, Black Adam muscle suit, with muscle padding on top of my body.” He further explained, “It looked like you and I were going back to SNL to do a sketch. It was like ridiculous.”
“So I asked them to remove the muscle padding. And I really wanted to work hard. I wanted to get in the best shape of my career for this because I felt like Black Adam just commanded that kind of performance.”
Fallon then asked, “So the suit is basically just skintight.” The Rock affirmed, “It’s my skin! So now it’s a very thin material that is on my body.”
“Black Adam” hits theaters October 21 and fans are certainly excited for Rock’s next project. Stay tuned to Thirsty for further updates.
