Nicki Minaj has lots of time this year. Following a low-key social media spat with Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and other budding female rappers in recent months, the Barb has added Latto to her list of enemies. She also took the opportunity to slam NLE Choppa.
After criticizing the Grammys for excluding her song “Super Freaky Girl” from the rap category, Nicki throws Latto’s “Big Energy” to the mix, claiming that the Mariah Carey-sampled record should not be considered for a rap Grammy as well. NLE Choppa unwittingly got himself in the mix after hours of back-and-forth insults between the 39-year-old star and the 23-year-old rapper.
I Vow When I Become A OG in This Music Sh*t To Never Hate On The Ones Coming Up. I Vow To Lift Them Up That Ladder, I Vow To Light That Torch And Keep Passing It.
Assuming the tweet was directed at her, Nicki shared an old DM of NLE asking for a feature. She captioned the screenshot, “Notice a patter? U only get called old when you pass on their features. I ain’t never diss my idols for not giving me a feature.” The “Walk Em’ Down” rapper, on the other hand, assured Barb that his message was not meant for her. “I wasn’t even talking about you love,” he replied.
Minaj later removed the tweet. However, NLE was not completed.
Y’all steady saying I’m talking bout somebody. Ion care what nobody else got going I’m speaking on PERSONAL experiences I’ve had with people I looked up to before I came up.
