Kanye West is becoming more and more controversial by the day. His antics have become so overbearing that politicians are distancing themselves from him.
According to TMZ, former Atlanta city councilmember Natalyn Archibong, who spearheaded the city’s “Kanye West Day”, is now distancing herself from him. West’s ongoing and most recent shocking comments, especially with George Floyd’s death and his anti-Semitic Tweets, finally did it.
Archibong said she does want to engage in revisionist history. She wouldn’t give Kanye the same proclamation.
Natalyn stated the proclamation was a one-time thing and can’t be repeated or erased. There were 4 main reasons for commemorating Kanye with his own day as well.
She mentions West was born in Atlanta, his Donda’s tour started in Atlanta and his mother, Donda West, attended Morris Brown College, an HBCU in Atlanta. Archibong also said, “the proclamation was an acknowledgment of his substantial contribution to the arts” for Kanye. Archibong says the “July 2021 proclamation did not envision that in 2022, the artist formerly known as Kanye West would boldly make such ugly and hurtful statements.”
Other cities and organizations are slowly walking back from Kanye. He has really destroyed his reputation.
