Bray Wyatt worked for WWE under McMahon’s direction from 2009 until 2021. The 35-year-old was unexpectedly let go last year despite being one of the most well-known employees. It turns out that Vince McMahon might not have understood what Wyatt was trying to accomplish.

During the Smack Talk program, Dutch Mantell recently claimed that during Bray Wyatt’s prior run with the WWE, Vince McMahon never “understood” his vision.

Mantell made appearances in WWE as the persona Zeb Colter between 2013 and 2016. Before forging ties with Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro, he first worked as Jack Swagger’s manager. Mantell, formerly known as Zeb Colter in the WWE, discussed Wyatt’s most recent comeback with Rick Ucchino and Sid Pullar III.

I think Bray Wyatt right now he’s in control of his own destiny, and I think that’s what he was looking for. I think before they listened to him, but I don’t think Vince got it the way he got it. Now the new regime may get it, so I think it works well for him. Now we’ll see what he can do. He has the following, so we’ll see if he can carry that out.

Mantell frequently didn’t have a plan until the very last minute when Vince McMahon was in charge of creative. Mantell also said that two hours before the start of WWE television shows, Vince McMahon occasionally rewrote the whole script:

Since Triple H took over Vince McMahon’s position as Head of Creative in July, Wyatt has been the most well-known individual to rejoin WWE. Among the other well-known celebrities who have returned are Braun Strowman and Karrion Kross. Let’s see what’s in store for Wyatt, Strowman, and Kross in the future.
