Travis Scott’s infamous Astroworld music festival was caught in a world of controversy when 10 people were killed and hundreds injured during a stampede that took place at the event. At 9:30 pm, during the rapper’s headlining set, several concertgoers rushed the stage, resulting in many people being hospitalized and 10 people dying.
This fateful event led to the victims’ families suing Travis Scott for the mishap. The rapper is just starting to put his legal troubles behind him as he has settled the first lawsuit by one of the victim’s family. According to TMZ, attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the family of Axel Acosta informed them that the family was willing to settle after suing Travis Scott, Live Nation, and others.
Axel Acosta, who was a big Travis Scott fan, traveled all the way from Washington for the event. The 21-year-old succumbed to the injuries he suffered at the event. Although the terms of the settlement are confidential, Tony Buzbee stated that the family wants people to remember Axel as a “beloved son, brother and student” who was also “kind and loving” and is “greatly missed.”
Although Travis Scott has put this lawsuit behind him, this is just one of many lawsuits filed against the rapper. There were 10 people who died at Astroworld and Travis Scott is dealing with lawsuits from the families affected by the incident.
