Emily Ratajkowski Defends ‘Controversial’ Outfit That Was Too Hot For Her Agency

Emily Ratajkowski rose to prominence for her recurring role on the Nickelodeon series iCarly. In the years to come, she would go on to become a successful model as well. Ratajkowski isn’t afraid to be bold, and she recently defended her ‘controversial’ dress that her agents called ‘too sexy.’

Ratajkowski recently appeared in a new Harper’s Bazaar video, where she looked back at some of the most memorable moments of her career. She also addressed the gossip around the “most controversial dress she’s ever worn”

I had no idea what a scene this would cause. Somebody called it ‘extremely vulgar’ and it became this huge controversy on the internet. And some of my agents were mad at me because they thought it was too sexy.

At the time, the 31-year-old model didn’t understand what all the commotion was about. Looking back at the outfit the “My Body” author is choosing to stand by it. Ratajkowski remarked that the outfit still looks “great” and she still likes it.

I was in my 20s and just, like, hadn’t registered that it was so sexy, because there is a panel in the middle, but it looks like there isn’t. And then I basically called the person who said it was a vulgar dress ‘sexist,’ and there was drama. I still like that dress. I still think I look great. I was basically called out for wanting attention, which I think is interesting, because you go to red carpets for attention, basically. Essentially, it’s part of your job as a celebrity.
