Kanye West is touted as one of the biggest names in the world of hip-hop, but he is also a true genius when it comes to business as well. His accolades simply speak for themselves. Kanye recently claimed that Quentin Tarantino and Jamie Foxx stole the idea of “Django Unchained” from him.
Kanye West and Piers Morgan recently had a conversation on Piers Morgan Uncensored, which was a match made in hell. Ye is now claiming that Quentin Tarantino and Jamie Foxx stole the idea for Tarantino’s 2012 movie Django Unchained from him. This is the latest in a slew of bizarre claims.
Tarantino can write a movie about slavery where – actually him and Jamie, they got the idea from me because the idea for Django, I pitched to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino as the video for ‘Gold Digger’. And then Tarantino turned it into a film.
The movie centers on Foxx’s character Django, a liberated slave who teams up with a bounty hunter to find his wife and release her from a plantation. Ye claims in the interview with Morgan that he initially approached Foxx with a similar idea for the music video for their 2005 joint effort, “Gold Digger,” before changing his mind.
Ye lauded Foxx’s acting skills earlier last month and even claimed he would like Foxx to play him in a movie, despite his irritation over the alleged theft of the Django premise. Ye referred to Foxx as “One of the greatest geniuses” in a post from his since-deleted Instagram account. Watch the interview with Piers Morgan below.
