The world watched for years as Britney Spears was subjected to a strict conservatorship. The 13-year conservatorship caused her a significant deal of stress and emotional suffering. However, her issues with her family have yet to go away.
Once again, Britney Spears took aim at her estranged mother, Lynne Spears, in another scathing post shared to Twitter on Friday night. The pop star spoke on ‘being scared of people’ and accused her mother of being dismissive of her.
Britney shared a particular story about taking an hours-long flight to spend time with the Spears matriarch, though she did not state when the visit took place. The diatribe came just days after Spears accused Lynne of striking her, and three months after she accused Lynne of being the “mastermind” behind her now-terminated conservatorship, which lasted more than 13 years.
Britney declared in a Twitter post, “So embarrassing… literally me for the rest of my life!!!! Let me tell you… it’s SO SEXY to be on guard and scared of people secretly!!!,” alongside an old photo of actress Audrey Hepburn pointing a handgun in her rom-com film Paris When It Sizzles (1964). She continued, “I wish I could be like my mom and just sit my ass on a chair while my daughter drives two hours to see me and takes a 6-hour flight!!!!”
The Toxic singer went on to critique her mother for allegedly dismissing her on one such occasion. She explained, “She just STAYED SEATED with the phone in her hand and gave me the hold finger… and said “SORRY GIVE ME A MINUTE… GO GET IVY’S BOTTLE”!!!!,” in a reference to younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ now four-year-old daughter Ivey. She concluded her post with a reference to a Audrey Hepburn photo.
“Must be nice to be SO comfortable with me…. in the meantime this is me for the rest of my life with confidence and a laid back attitude!!!! Psss I’ve never actually held a gun… all good friends!!!!”
Back in July, in another social media post, the Circus star accused her mother of helping to plot her conservatorship in 2008, and pretending not to know about it. Clearly, Britney has a lot of unresolved issues to work through. Stay tuned to Thirsty for further updates.
