Warner Bros. Pictures released Black Adam to theaters in the United States on October 21st, 2022. The performances of Dwayne Johnson and Pierce Brosnan were praised by critics, but the narrative and villain were panned, and the action sequences elicited mixed reactions. It appears, the much-awaited film is set to break a huge box office record.
The Rock has impressed the audience with his outstanding performance. The film had been in the works for years and was destined to be a smash hit. Johnson was vocal about his desire to play the DC supervillain, and he was finally able to accomplish just that.
Sportskeeda reported, on its first day, the film grossed $26.8 million, including $7.6 million in previews. If it continues on this path, it is likely to cross $60 million domestically and more than $70 million globally over the weekend. It will be the biggest opening weekend box office for a film featuring Dwayne Johnson.
By crossing $50 million before the weekend ends, it is also set to become the first worldwide release to earn above $50 million since Thor: Love and Thunder. The movie will expectedly break multiple more records before it goes off in theaters.
It’s certainly a good sign for Johnson’s career in Hollywood. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
