The Game was scheduled to headline at the 2022 Jive Super Live Festival, which took place at the Jamsil stadium in Seoul on October 16th. This was to be the rapper’s first performance in Korea.
However, fans were understandably disappointed when the rapper did not show up for his set. All Hip Hop confirmed that The Game had pulled out of the show just a week before the festival was to take place.
The Game’s team did not respond to an email sent by the festival organizers, but the organizers later issued a statement to KBizoom confirming the cancellation of his performance.
The statement put out by the organizers described the cancellation as “reckless,” and expressed disappointment at the unexpected turn of events.
It is regrettable that many Korean production companies, many artists preparing for this performance, and, most of all, the Korean audience who waited for this event, are bound to suffer tremendous losses due to The Game’s sudden cancellation,
While The Game’s team has not yet provided any reasons for the cancellation, there is conjecture that the rapper cancelled his appearance due to the country’s strict laws against cannabis.
