Ariana Grande Gets Into Her ‘Wicked’ Witch Glinda Character With New Blond Hair

Ariana Grande began her career and rose to prominence as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious. The vocalist went on to become one of the most well-known musicians. Ariana is now ready for the big screen, and she just teased her blond hair makeover for “Wicked” on Instagram, although she kept her signature ponytail.

Ariana Grande is channeling Glinda the Good Witch for the upcoming “Wicked” film with a dramatic blond hair transformation. “New earrings,” the pop star subtly captioned an Instagram photo of her new platinum ponytail. Grande’s friends and followers were understandably shocked.

Jonathan Van Ness described her look as “Iconique.” Gottmik referred to her as “A BLONDE DIVA.” Hairstylist Chris Appleton, who was in charge of Grande’s previous blond hairstyle for her 2018 “Sweetener” album also chimed in writing, “Ohh Hi old friend.”

“Blondiana just shattered the internet,” a fan gushed, while another nodded to a “Wicked” song, quipping, “you’re gonna be popular.” In the first hour after Grande posted her photo, almost two million people liked it. Grande was cast as the bubbly blond witch in the November 2021 film adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical, with Cynthia Erivo playing the green-skinned Elphaba.

Director Jon M. Chu confirmed in April 2022 that the film will be divided into two parts. It is slated to be released on Christmas Day 2024 and 2025, much to the dismay of fans, who have called it a “money grab.” Though theatergoers will have to wait more than a year to see “Wicked” on the big screen, Grande is still at work.
