Ashanti and Irv Gotti had many speculations regarding their relationship circulating in the industry throughout the 2000s. Irv’s continued feelings for her indicate that his love for her was sincere. With Ashanti, though, things are different; She thinks Irv Gotti is “bitter” and that his comments are “very negative.”
It appears that Ashanti is conducting her own publicity tour. Ashanti has shared her side of the tale after remaining largely mum earlier this year when Irv Gotti spoke openly about the development of their reported ’90s affair. Under the banner of Murder Inc, she rose to fame as the group’s crooner, but it wasn’t her musical contributions that Gotti’s conversations with fans drew in.
The head of the Murder Inc label floated from platform to platform talking about his relationship with the artist. Gotti said that Ashanti left him in the dust when federal officials came knocking and spoke about how their private moments served as the idea for her singles.
Following the release of a clip in which Ashanti was seen having a one-on-one conversation with Angie Martinez, the singer also joined Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97. In footage that the station shared, Ebro inquired as to her absence from the BET-distributed Murder Inc documentary.
Ebro added that he is witnessing, it happening alongside the rest of the globe as an observer. He questioned whether this tension was professional or personal. Additionally, Ashanti went on to comment on Irv Gotti.
“I think it’s a combination of being bitter because of the business and how things happened in his mind. After a while, you assume that a grown man kinda understands what it is and moves on.”
“I think that once someone goes after you and attacks you and intentionally tries to consistently hurt you, at some point, you have to protect yourself. I just felt like I don’t want to put myself in that space, in that energy, because it was really, really negative.”
Irv declared he would stop talking about Ashanti after facing a barrage of criticism for his remarks regarding her. Let’s see what form this controversy takes, though. Keep checking Thirsty for more updates.
