The Dallas Mavericks are renowned for their mind-blowing smashes. Although most fans love their teams for their shots; occasionally the shot goes off target. Recently, a Dallas Mavericks player struck a fan in the head during a game with an errant pass.

An NBA fan paid the price for failing to keep her head turned while attempting to claim her courtside seat on Tuesday night when she was struck in the head by an errant ball. A woman’s back was turned to the court as Dallas attempted to place a bucket on the floor just a few minutes into the Mavericks vs. Pelicans game in New Orleans.

Dorian Finney-Smith retrieved the rebound after Luka Doncic’s missed shot and immediately tried to pass the ball to a teammate. His pass was accidentally knocked out of his grasp, and it immediately headed straight for the unwary woman’s head.

Despite considerable force being used to knock the ball off the back of her dome, she seemed to be well. She also managed to hold the water without spilling any of it, and she just laughed it off.

Later in the game, retired NFL head coach Sean Payton demonstrated how spectators should conduct themselves courtside by displaying cat-like reflexes to intercept a tipped ball before it could cause any damage.

Despite the floor-seat shenanigans, the Pels defeated Dallas, 113-111, despite the absence of Zion Williamson, thus everyone in the arena received a small gift from the home team. Did you enjoy the match? For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
