Tom Brady is under .500 through seven games for the first time since 2002. That’s some desperate stuff for a Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad that is supposed to be in the lineup of Super Bowl contenders. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going through a tough spell and it appears, Warren Moon has a solution.
Warren Moon believes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can revive their season if Rob Gronkowski comes out of retirement. The Hall of Famer told TMZ Sports that he thinks the 3-4 Bucs could turn everything around if Gronk came back this year.
Moon said that he formed his view based on what he’s seen from Tom Brady on the field over the course of seven games. He claimed to have seen the GOAT struggle in the pocket and miss an old standby on crucial downs. Moon said Gronkowski has been a “security blanket for [Brady]” for a long time now.
Whenever there’s a key play that needs to be made, especially down in the redzone or whatever — and they had a tough time scoring in the redzone last week — that’s the guy he would usually go to, Rob Gronkowski.
It should be noted, Brady’s numbers in 2022 haven’t been terrible, he has eight passing touchdowns to one interception, but something does appear to be amiss. This season, he has only one multi-TD game and two games with more than 300 throwing yards. Moon clearly believes Gronkowski could change all of that and even help out the locker room with his “infectious personality.”
There’s just one problem, Moon is not sure if the tight end is really thinking about coming out of retirement. Gronk repeatedly stated in recent months that he is done. However, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, stated that a comeback would not surprise him.
Meanwhile, Brady and the Bucs play the Ravens on Thursday night and if they lose another game there, maybe it’s time to get Gronkowski on Line 1. Stay tuned to Thirsty for further updates.
