Barack Obama and Michelle Obama have done an outstanding job of supporting one another in their respective careers. In the long run of their relationship, the couple faced a lot of difficulties. Michelle recently admitted that she couldn’t stand Barack during the first decade of their marriage.
Michelle Obama and Barack Obama have long spoken openly about the difficult period of their relationship that they fought together. Michelle admitted that she was raising their children much more than he was.
However, she has never been so direct, admitting that she “couldn’t stand” the former president for a third of their marriage. The former first lady spoke on a panel for Revolt TV about the difficulties of juggling a family and her career.
“People think I’m being catty saying this: It’s like, there were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband. And guess when it happened? When those kids were little.”
Michelle previously discussed how Barack frequently missed meetings while he commuted from Chicago to Springfield, Illinois, as a state legislator. Michelle got really personal during the conversation and discussed every challenge she had to face.
“And for 10 years while we’re trying to build our careers and, you know, worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, I was like, ‘Ugh, this isn’t even.”
“… guess what: 10 years — we’ve been married 30. I would take 10 bad years over 30 — it’s just how you look at it. And people give up … five years, I can’t take it.”
“Do you like him? I mean you could be mad at him but do you still look at him and go, ‘I’m not happy with you, but I respect you. I don’t agree with you but you’re still a kind, smart person.'”
Michelle discussed marriage perseverance and how some individuals give up too soon. However, Michelle is promoting “The Light We Carry,” her most recent book. What’s your take on it? For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
