Drake is a major hip-hop star across the world who tours constantly in a lot of major countries. Although getting involved with the authorities can be an issue when touring. That brought about rumors of an arrest from the summer and Drake now went on the record.
While taking to Instagram on New Year’s Eve, Drake shared one of the semi-frequent carousel posts that include video content showing himself being detained by police while in Sweden. The face of the person being escorted by officers, it can be assumed that it’s Drake based on the hair and slight vision of facial hair.
Back in July, rumors on social media lead to speculation that Drake had been arrested in Sweden, along with his security, for being in possession of marijuana. A “Free Drake” movement began trending on Twitter a short time later.
A representative for Drake eventually confirmed to XXL that the rap star had not been arrested. But the rapper takes to Instagram a few days after the rumors to post a photo of a letter allegedly from the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Sweden’s National Police Board. The paper noted a number of things, including that the recipient had been detained after being suspected of a crime.
Nothing on the situation has been detailed until Drake apparently wanted to remind everyone before the year was over that he actually did have a run-in with the law this year. You can watch the video on the second slide of Drake’s Instagram post.
