Dana White is known to be a very controversial figure when it comes to the proper payment of UFC stars. He was called out for this fact many times by the likes of Jake Paul. That being said, White is someone who usually maintains his cool when under unfortunate circumstances. However, White ended up getting into a slapping fight with his wife at a club in New Year’s Eve.
According to TMZ, Dana White and his wife got physical with each other on New Year’s Eve, shocking fans at the Cabo San Lucas nightclub.
White and his wife were celebrating Saturday night with friends in El Squid Roe, but things turned awry once the New Year started.
According to witnesses, when Dana leaned over to say something to his wife Anne, she reacted by slapping him hard. Dana White retaliated with a slap of his own. Their friends intervened and broke the two apart.
Witnesses stated that Dana and Anne both seemed heavily under the influence of alcohol before the physical altercation. It was said that the conflict was all over in less than a minute.
Dana White also commented on the incident and stated that he and Anne had been drinking heavily. He then added that that’s no excuse for him getting physical.
You’ve heard me say for years, ‘There’s never ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman,’ and now here I am on TMZ talking about it.
White added that he’s embarrassed by this “horrible” incident, and he and Anne have apologized to each other. Annne also shared her thoughts on the incident.
Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement — nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides. We’ve talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
It was certainly shocking to see Dana White and his wife slapping each other like that, especially on New Year’s day. Regardless, we are glad the situation was resolved and hope it never repeats again.
