The 2021 film No Time To Die was the final out for Daniel Craig as James Bond, aka 007. Now with Craig’s tenure as Bond wrapped up, there have been a lot of actors rumored to be in the next wave of 007 films and now a candidate has now emerged.

According to the Daily Mail, Emily in Paris’ actor Lucien Laviscount is in the running as the next 007. Apparently, Laviscount did capture the attention of movie producer Barbara Broccoli, who holds the rights to the James Bond franchise and is in search of a new agent to replace Craig.

An Insider told the Daily Mail stated that Laviscount checks all the boxes for a James Bond from the producers and they can picture him inside the typical Bond tuxedo. It doesn’t help that he earned a following due to his appearance on Emily In Paris.

“Lucien ticks all of the boxes. He is a super talented actor, is extremely handsome and in the past 18 months has won lots of new fans since he joined Emily In Paris. Bond bosses are already saying how you can see him in the 007 tuxedo, how dapper and fitting to the role he will look.”

The one thing that may hurt Lucien’s chances is his time on ‘Celebrity Big Brother,’ in 2011. The Daily Mail source believes the Bond producers think it’s low-brow stuff not fitting of a Bond actor, even though they’re supposedly still pretty high on him in general.

An interesting tidbit coming out from the report is that Broccoli greenlit stunt work testing over at Pinewood Studios, where they’ve shot most of the Bond films. If true, that would mean they’re ramping up to start the next reboot post-Craig/’No Time to Die.’

It would be another few years until a Bond film is released in theatres. Let’s hope all the right pieces will fall into place for another great 007 outing.

Would Laviscount make a great James Bond/007? Sound off in the comments!
