NBA YoungBoy is continuously rising up in his musical career. He never really runs out of music. YoungBoy has continued to release new music throughout the last year even while battling a federal gun case in Los Angeles. He is now gearing up for his upcoming 2023 album.
Despite taking a break for the majority of the year, NBA YoungBoy returned stronger than ever with The Last Slimeto. Even though the project comprised up to 30 tracks, he had even more stuff in the vault to release in the months that followed. On December 23rd, NBA YoungBoy capped off an exceptionally productive year with Lost Files. Despite receiving no notice or advertising, the record sold 18K copies in its first week.
It appears that NBA YoungBoy’s 2022 run was really a warm-up for huge things in the coming year. This weekend, the rapper confirmed that he will release new music this week. On Friday, Jan. 6th, he’ll release his next album, I Rest My Case, featuring cover art by DJ Akademiks.

There is no word on what to expect, but it appears like NBA Youngboy will continue to release new music throughout the year. In October, the rapper stated that he had completed his contract with Atlantic Records, with whom he had been signed since 2017. The release of The Last Slimeto appears to have fulfilled his contractual duties to Atlantic.
Since then, NBA Youngboy has signed with Motown Records, a division of Universal Music Group. It will be interesting to see how this next chapter of his career unfolds, albeit he is no stranger to the label. He had previously signed a deal with Motown for the Never Broke Again brand, which featured musicians such as NoCap and Quando Rondo. You can check out the upcoming album cover art below.
