On New Year’s Day Jeremy Renner was hospitalised after a massive snow plow called Snowcat ran over him when he was helping a neighbour. TMZ reported that the incident took place a quarter of a mile away from Renner’s Nevada home. Jeremy’s neighbour, who is a doctor, helped him by putting a tourniquet over his over his leg until paramedics arrived after seeing he was losing a lot of blood.
The actor was then airlifted to a nearby hospital. Jeremy’s rep informed Deadline that the actor was in critical but stable condition. Jeremy Renner underwent surgery on January 2. Following the surgery, his rep issued a statement on his condition.
“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2, 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.
Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe Country Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans,” the statement read.
Now, Jeremy Renner himself has issued a first public statement since the incident. He took to Instagram to share a picture from his hospital bed with a caption that reads as follows:
“Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”
