Joe Exotic made headlines for all the wrong reasons following the release of “Tiger King” on Netflix. The docuseries exposed Exotic’s plot to murder Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin. The 59-year-old has finally divorced estranged husband Dillon Passage.
According to TMZ, a judge in Florida’s Santa Rosa County signed off on the dissolution of marriage, enabling the estranged couple to officially part ways and live their lives “unattached and unhitched.”
Tuesday’s ruling put an end to Exotic’s four-year marriage to Passage. The former couple have been separated for years, but moved the court for divorce in March 2022. Another report from last year revealed the Tiger King star filed for divorce because he wanted to marry his prison love interest.
According to Exotic’s lawyer Autumn Beck Blackledge, the former G.W. Zoo owner had been pursuing the finalization of his divorce from 27-year-old Passage so that he could marry John Graham.
“Mr. Maldonado-Passage [Exotic] is seeking a divorce from jail because he desires to marry his new love interest, Mr. John Graham whom he met in prison.”
In 2019, Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison for plotting the murder of Baskin. His sentence was later reduced to 21 years so that he could receive cancer treatment. Keep reading Thirsty for more.
