Jamie Foxx had a troubled relationship with his mother, who turned 80 on January 1st. His mother abandoned him shortly after his birth, and he was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Estelle Marie Nelson and Mark Talley, both of whom have passed away. Foxx later tracked her down and reunited with his mother in 2000.
Jamie seems to be making up for the days he couldn’t be with her by treating her special. He recently celebrated his mother’s 80th birthday with a magnificent dinner party at Miami steakhouse Prime 112 on Monday night. According to Page Six, the Ray actor hosted an “epic” and “beautiful” birthday dinner for his mother, Louise Annette Talley Dixon.
He hosted it in the restaurant’s semi-private wine room for a party of 20 people. “There was champagne, steak, seafood, and desserts galore being brought to the table all night long,” the source said.
Everyone went away stuffed and the desserts came out in a big presentation with everyone singing ‘Happy Birthday.’
The group enjoyed a variety of treats, such as fried Oreos, many other kinds of big cakes, and a peanut butter Snickers pie. All of which came out with birthday candles for the honored guest. Fat Joe and Shaquille O’Neal, who were both dining at the popular restaurant at the time, walked over to give Foxx’s mom a big birthday hug.
Foxx later revealed on Instagram that for his mother’s milestone birthday, he gave her a big gold and silver Rolex watch. The Django Unchained star shared a video of his mother dancing to the song Rolex by Ayo & Teo while wearing the costly timepiece. “Happy birthday, mom,” Foxx said in the video before her other family members and friends joined in.
Jamie had a difficult childhood without his parents. However, everything has come back together for him now that his divorced mother and father, Darrell Bishop, both live with him under one roof. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
