Damar Hamlin is going through the most challenging time in his life after he experienced cardiac arrest on the field. Many people have been sending support to Hamlin via donations Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay recently matched the second-highest donation to Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s GoFundMe.com charity effort.

In response to Hamlin’s medical mishap during Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the NFL community reacted in waves by donating to Hamlin’s GoFundMe, which supports his Chasing M’s foundation, looking for a way to give back to the player and show their own support for Hamlin. According to Colts.com, Irsay matched the largest donation to Hamlin with a figure of $25,003.00.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Irsay joined other NFL owners such as Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, and other NFL players such as Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson. Hamlin suffered a cardiac episode on the field during the first quarter of the game on Monday, January 4, and was taken to UC Medical Center for treatment.

Hamlin’s recovery has been encouraging. The Bills’ safety is now breathing without mechanical assistance, and he’s even communicating with his family. Most recently, two of Damar Hamlin’s physicians said that he had been conversing with them via writing.
