Sasha Banks single-handedly became one of the biggest topics of discussion last year following her WWE walkout. Following numerous months of speculation and fantasy booking, Banks would finally debut in NJPW this past week as Mercedes Mone. Naturally, fans have been wondering whether Mone will make her way to AEW after her NJPW debut. Paul Wight also believes Mone will be a great fit for AEW.
Sasha Banks made her shocking debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17, where she debuted as ‘The CEO’ Mercedes Mone. She immediately went after KAIRI and made it clear she is coming for the IWGP Women’s Championship.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, Paul Wight was asked whether Mercedes Mone would be a great fit for AEW. Paul Wight made it clear that he believes Mone will be a tremendous asset to AEW.
“I think she’d be a tremendous asset to any company. She’s a star and has an incredible fan following. Any company would be glad to have her.
For a long time, everyone got spoiled because there was one company to work for. Now there are multiple viable companies again to work for.
It gives talents an opportunity to express themselves and create the deals they want to make. It gives a chance for someone stagnant in one company to reinvent themselves.”
There is also the belief that Mercedes Mone will be following in Brock Lesnar’s footsteps after her NJPW debut. Mone is also set for a huge title match next month, so she will certainly be busy. We’ll have to see whether Mone ends up debuting in AEW soon, as fans would love to see that happen.
