Rob Gronkowski’s Donation To Bills’ Damar Hamlin Garners Huge Attention

The NFL community banded together to offer their support for Damar Hamlin during this difficult time. A fund for Hamlin was opened for this mishap, and many people donated to the cause. Rob Gronkowski, however, received the most notice for his contribution.

When making a donation to Buffalo Bills defender Damar Hamlin’s toy drive, Rob Gronkowski fully engaged in “Gronk” mode. He provided a $6,900 donation. The iconic former New England Patriots man has added his name to the increasing list of donors to the drive fund.

People took to Twitter and started praising Gronkowski for such a donation amount. Many pointed out how “on brand” he was while making the donation. Many high-profile celebs and personalities have donated large amounts to the fund, however, Rob’s contribution surely stands out the most.

Not long after Hamlin’s injury, Gronkowski had already expressed his support for him. He rushed to Twitter on Monday night to share a photo of Bills players praying on the field while Hamlin was being transferred to a Cincinnati hospital. The former NFL star did his part to further lighten the mood as Hamlin recovers.

As Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk pointed out, numerous players and NFL figures have already made particular contributions to the cause. The likes of Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Andy Dalton, and others have all supported Hamlin’s great cause. More than 240,000 people have donated a total of more than $8.3 million.

It’s great to see Rob Gronkowski taking a fun take on the donation front to ease the tense situation. Since Hamlin is breathing fine and moving towards his recovery, we all hope he and his family cheer up.
