50 Cent is undoubtedly one of the most influential rappers in the history of the hip-hop business. The legendary artist made a name for himself in several mediums such as games, movies, books and more. That being said, 50 Cent isn’t always a fan of his fame. In fact, he wishes Tony Yayo blew up instead of him.
Following his breakout 2003 album Get Rich or Die Tryin, 50 Cent went on to become one of the most established and beloved rappers of all time. He and his G-Unit members became the talk of the town overnight.
While speaking with Real 92.3, 50 Cent stated that he wished his G-Unit signee Tony Yayo would’ve blown up instead of him. Fif would then go on to explain why he even said such a thing in the first place.
“My solo album took off so big that I just brought them with me. So it was clear that it was me creating opportunity for everybody else in the crew, but we was all together. I wish it would have been Yayo, because then I coulda did all of the business. If he woulda did what 50 Cent did, then I would have been running the whole thing.
It would still be two of us. He’d still be 50 cent as the artist and I’d be the largest asset to us.”
50 Cent also recently explained an interesting lyric from his iconic ‘In Da Club’ single. Fif is also working on an ‘8 Mile’ TV series in the future. The rapper/producer certainly has a lot of things to do this year and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
