Elon Musk is always at the forefront of thoughts when any individuals consider business strategies. However, it appears that the mastermind’s plan did not succeed this time. Musk has recently established a new record for having experienced the greatest loss of personal wealth in history.
Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, currently holds the global record for the biggest loss of personal fortune. According to a Guinness World Records study, the multibillionaire lost close to $200 billion between November 2021 and the present. Due to the decline in his net worth, he is now the second richest man in the world, behind business mogul Bernard Arnault.
Musk suffered a monetary loss due to the significant decline in Tesla equities, of which he controls the majority. The demise was pushed much more by his purchase of Twitter in October 2022.
While Space X, Musk’s other business, has made great strides toward its goal of launching one of its starship prototypes for its initial space mission. According to a Guinness World Records study, the tech tycoon’s wealth has decreased by over $182 billion since November 2021, according to Forbes.
Regardless, the loss is more significant than half of what was estimated to be his value in November 2021, when he was still considered to be the world’s richest person. Musk’s wealth has plummeted from a peak of $320 billion in November 2021 to $137 billion as of Tuesday, according to the business magazine.
In the wake of his SoftBank shares falling, the loss caused the Tesla CEO to easily overtake Japanese tech billionaire Masayoshi Son, who lost $58.6 billion during the dot com crash of 2000 alone. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty
