Donell Jones is best known for the hits “U Know What’s Up”, “Where I Wanna Be”, and his cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet.” He was recently involved in a fatal car crash. The R&B musician considers himself fortunate to have survived the recent car crash.
The Life Goes On singer recently revealed on Instagram that he had wrecked his Mercedes-Benz into a ditch after falling asleep behind the wheel. The 49-year-old was fortunate not to have been injured. The incident taught him an “important lesson” about driving while drowsy.
I fell asleep while driving yesterday and ended up in a ditch,” he wrote in his caption. “I walk away with no injuries but I learned a valuable lesson, That if you’re tired just park the car cause this could’ve been bad.
I know that I am truly protected but I needed this experience…. Thank you God for wrapping your arms around me as you have always done… My love and loyalty is to you.
Donell Jones also released a series of images from the aftermath of his accident, which showed his silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class abandoned in a ditch by the side of the road. On his post, the singer received a flood of encouraging remarks from fans and peers alike, including Da Brat, David Banner, Lyfe Jennings, Jacquees, and D-Nice.
