Vince McMahon’s shocking return to WWE last week served as the beginning of the end for the company according to many fans. McMahon came back with a vengeance, becoming a member of the Board Of Directors recently and he wasn’t finished after that. McMahon then regained control of the company’s Board of Directors as the Executive Chairman of WWE and started finalizing WWE’s deal with Saudi Arabia. That being said, it seems WWE has no deal in place to sell the company right now.
A report then made its way online, which stated that WWE has agreed to sell the company to Saudi Arabia. WWE even thinking of selling themselves to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia made fans online shocked and appalled in many ways.
Reports also stated that WWE agreed on their sale with Saudi Arabia in principle, so the deal is not finalized just yet. For those who don’t know, WWE is in the process of getting sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which would turn the company private again and no longer publicly traded.
However, as reported by Ariel Helwani on Twitter, there is no deal in place for WWE to be sold to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He added that the original tweet which stated that the Saudi Arabia deal was ‘a done deal’ has been deleted.
Contrary to reports stating otherwise last night, there is no deal in place at this precise moment for WWE to be sold to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund or any entity, sources say. The organization is still exploring all options, I’m told. Developing.
Worth noting that the original tweet stating it was a done deal has since been deleted.
Vince McMahon also started working on the deal with Saudi Arabia right after he retired last year. It was also reported that WWE talent will be done with the company if a deal with Saudi Arabia goes through.
While WWE may not have any concrete deal to be sold, that can change at any given moment, so we’ll have to see if that will happen soon. Keep checking back here at Thirsty For News as we continue monitoring this ongoing situation.
