Cardi B Teases New Album With Mysterious Instagram Page

Cardi B has worked hard to establish herself as one of the best female rappers in the hip-hop industry owing to her strong personality and confidence. She is also a controversial figure, yet her albums keep her fans on the edge. Cardi B fans now have reason to assume that her new album is finally on the way, thanks to a mystery Instagram account that appears to be dedicated to the project.

Cardi B sparked excitement for her long-awaited sophomore album on January 12 when fans saw she had started following an Instagram page with the name @albumcb2. The page has yet to post anything and has no profile photo, yet it already has over 5,000 followers as of press time. Cardi B is the only follower of the account.

The mysterious account fueled the speculation by reposting a photo of Cardi in the studio on its Instagram Story. The photo was initially uploaded by Brooklyn Johnny, a label executive/A&R who has worked with the rapper from her early days. “Y’ALL READY?! #CardiB,” he captioned the photo, much to the joy of his fans and Bardi Gang badge-holders.

Cardi B’s sophomore album has been in the works for quite some time. Despite a trio of hit songs, “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, “Hot Sh*t” with Kanye West and Lil Durk, and “Up,” as well as high claims of “stomping” the game, the project has been plagued by delays. During an open Instagram Live broadcast in December, Cardi confessed that anxiety and self-doubt, as well as being a mother to two young children, are partially to blame.

Cardi B’s team was shaken up in November when she signed with music industry titans Irving and Jeffrey Azoff’s Full Stop Management. The new project will be the follow-up to Cardi’s Invasion of Privacy debut, which was met with acclaim in April 2018. The album, which included Migos, 21 Savage, SZA, and others, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after earning 225,000 first-week units.
